I’ve also written book reviews for Essay Daily, Pleiades Book Review, the Phi Beta Kappa Reporter, and others. I write a quarterly column about the governors of Alabama for Alabama Heritage Magazine. If you ask me, my favorite thing I’ve ever written is this essay, which appeared in Bellingham Review, Utne Reader, and was in Hallow This Ground, my first book.
